FOSSY 2026 track proposals are open!

February 23, 2026

FOSSY 2026 (August 6th – 9th 2026 at University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada) has opened our call for track proposals!! Our community led tracks have always been a highlight of the conference. Making space for what the community wants to talk about, and fostering discussion around key issues in software freedom is what FOSSY is all about. You can view the 2025, 2024, and inaugural 2023 track listings on the archived conference sites.

We want to best support track organizers (it's a lot of work!), so please reach out if you have any questions. Generally, we welcome tracks focused on software freedom, software development and the people behind such creation. Our organization focuses on ethical technology, the software right to repair, how do LLMs and AI interact with free software and making sure software is made by all those who are impacted by it. We're excited to see how the rest of the community is thinking about these issues and learning from you all about the current landscape and future of the software freedom movement. Our form asks who is organizing, the topic, and how many days you would like. We will tailor the schedule to best facilitate the wide range of topics people are passionate about.

Don't forget we've already got rooms you can book (more options in the "budget rooms" tab) for this summer! Booking early helps us know and you are able to cancel (with a full refund) up to 72 hours before your booking begins. We're so excited for this year and can't wait for you to join us in Canada!
