Conservancy's Distinguished Technologist On Week-Long Speaking Tour in Sweden and Norway

May 31, 2016

This week, Conservancy's Bradley M. Kuhn, visits Sweden and Norway to speak about software freedom and the work of Conservancy. This week long speaking tour includes three talks, including a keynote at an annual academic conference in Sweden, and two talks to user groups in Norway.

Today in Götenberg, Sweden, Kuhn delivered the keynote at the the Twelfth International Conference on Open Source Systems (OSS 2016). In his keynote, Kuhn proposed collaboration between Conservancy and academic researchers in Open Source and Free Software to encourage more Free Software licensing of academic software systems developed as part of Computer Science research.

In Norway, Kuhn will speak in Oslo on Friday 3 June at 18:30 and in Bergen on Saturday 4 June at 14:00. Kuhn will deliver a talk entitled Tales from 20 Years of Copyleft Enforcement, in which he will give the highlights of his many years of work enforcing the GPL for various Free Software projects, including his recent work enforcing the GPL for Linux. The presentations will be recorded and live-streamed; details are available on the user group's websites.

Software freedom enthusiasts and GNU/Linux users in Norway are welcomed to these two events. Bradley looks forward to spending time with Free Software users and contributors in Norway this week.
